The regions’ appeal – their ability to stand out nationally and internationally and to attract entrepreneurs, investors, tourists, workers and students – is a major strategic objective for Crédit Mutuel Arkéa.
In its role as a banker, the Group works closely with community organizations that seek to:
develop and promote artistic and scientific talent
develop regional resources and skills
improve families’ well-being and living conditions
Culture, health and education
Actively engaged in the community, the Group focuses its contributions on iconic initiatives in Brittany, southwestern France and the Massif Central region, with special emphasis on three areas that strengthen its position as a “regional bank”:
Culture. The Group supports venues open to the entire community, such as entertainment facilities, theaters and museums.
Health. It mainly supports programs seeking to improve the daily lives of hospitalized patients and provide services to the elderly.
Education. The Group provides financial support to two leading university foundations operating in its regions.
Promoting all talents
Investment in sports takes the form of specific partnerships with soccer and sailing teams. The Group supports the Stade Rennais Football Club, Lorient Football Club, En Avant Guingamp, and Girondins de Bordeaux club, which compete in the French League 1, as well as the Stade Brestois 29 and Clermont Foot Auvergne clubs, which compete in League 2. CMSO’s partnership with the Bordeaux Bègles rugby team helped it return to the Top 14.
Together with the Brittany Region, CMB has been involved in sailing competitions for a number of years, with initiatives to support young up-and-comers as well as experienced skippers. Thus was born the “Bretagne-Crédit Mutuel” offshore racing team’s “pathway to excellence.’’
